Our Vision
The Grafton Heritage Partnership envisions and actively encourages a preservation effort of Grafton that includes the following:
- Maintain "ghost town" character
- Interpret Grafton's natural and human history
- List the "Grafton Historic District" on the National Register of Historic Places
- Stabilize and restore the historic structures and cultural resources
- Increase security in Grafton by having a site steward in the summer months who will live in their self-contained RV
to reduce vandalism to the historic structures
- Develop a BLM Historic Reserve Area that preserves BLM land that surrounds Grafton
- Preserve the scenic rural historic landscape
- Ensure that the natural features of the area are protected
- Focus on cooperative partnerships; Maintain an effective partnership for
addressing mutual concerns pertaining to public access, building stabilization, and activities on public lands
- Utilize the combined resources of the respective parties to cooperatively
improve conditions within the area as to better serve the public visitor,
historic interests, landowners and Grafton descendants
- Preserve an enhance the cottonwood tree forest
- Retain and enhance historic wood log fencing
